Weezer is on some run lately when it comes to paying homage to classic hits of the ’80s and ’90s, and on Monday night the band stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live for a performance of the Tears for Fears classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” — featuring Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of the seminal pop group, for good measure.
This collaboration popped up during Weezer’s Weekend 1 performance at Coachella last Saturday night, too:
It was a set which also featured TLC singer Chilli, who appeared on stage with the band for a cover of the TLC smash-hit “No Scrubs.”
And, of course, Weezer’s profile is arguably as big as it is these days in large part due to the runaway success of their cover of Toto’s “Africa,” which they played at Coachella. Weezer performed that hit on Kimmel last year:
All of the covers mentioned so far in this article are included in Weezer’s recent The Teal Album, which can be streamed below and is a ton of fun.
