Drummers drum. It’s just what they do. And Travis Barker seems to be doing it more than anybody else.

The Blink-182 drummer always seems to have a new project, a new band, a new gig or a new something, and this week he posted a video giving an idea of how he deals with insomnia.

No, it’s not a glass of warm milk (if that’s still a thing people do). He doesn’t sit there in bed counting sheep.

No, Travis Barker plays drums. Does that surprise you? It really shouldn’t, as it’s well-established by now that the man is always drumming. Up at 5 a.m., he’s drumming along to Powfu’s breakaway hit “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head).”

There’s even an actual, official remix of the song featuring Blink-182 (and Barker), premiered a few weeks back:

For more on Travis Barker and his relentless commitment to his craft, read Steve Rosen’s new Behind the Curtain entry. An excerpt:

“Everything’s okay when I’m behind my drums,” he will later reveal from the sanctuary of his private trailer.  “I don’t have a care in the world. That’s where I’m supposed to be at. It’s what I enjoy so it’s awesome. I never think of it as work. Maybe after the eighth hour of filming this video and they’re like, ‘Can you play that same part again or do that same thing with your hands?’ you’re like, ‘Oh, come on.’ But it’s like, I can never, ever complain. That was my only goal as a kid was to somehow figure out a way to play drums and make enough money to eat. So everything that happened after it, I’m just smiling ear to ear. I never expected or felt like I deserved it. I was just thankful.”

Barker even made music out of his efforts protesting in Los Angeles with pal Machine Gun Kelly earlier this month, the pair premiering a timely cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name”:
