On Thursday night, Tom Petty stopped by the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to drop some important news: he and the Heartbreakers will embark on a special 40th anniversary tour in 2017.

The tour will begin on April 20, 2017 and carry the band throughout North America.

Joe Walsh will appear as very special guest on many of the dates announced today, and Chris Stapleton will appear as very special guest at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and for two nights at the Marcus Amphitheater at Milwaukee’s Summerfest.
This news comes at a celebratory time for Petty and the Heartbreakers, who are also commemorating their legacy of classic music with two new vinyl box sets out today.
