The Raconteurs Kick Up the Dust Again with New LP ‘Help Us Stranger’ (Listen)

0

Jack White and his pals have some more noise up their sleeves — and last Friday, June 21, the Raconteurs unleashed Help Us Stranger, a new studio album and the band’s first in six years.

Previewed over the past few weeks, the record kicks off with the buzzy  bang of “Bored and Razed,” which hit the internet two weeks previous:

Simply put, it’s great to have the Raconteurs back. It’s been a while since their fuzzed-out brand of bluesy alt/rock was around, and it’s a welcomed reunion of sorts.

White, along with colleagues Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, have a style all their own, and it’s one that put the group on the map all those years ago.

Sure, White’s work with the White Stripes elevated the Raconteurs’ profile heavily — and Benson’s own solo career also played a role, obviously — but taken on their own merits, the Raconteurs seamlessly blend eras of rock and roll into their own fresh approach, and it’s explored once again on Help Us Stranger.

Listen to the album — loudly, if possible — below, via Spotify:
