Taylor Swift Premieres ‘Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions’ Concert Film on Disney+, Deluxe Edition of ‘Folklore’

In late July, Taylor Swift surprise-released Folklore, a new studio album that showed a significantly different musical side of the global pop star‘s catalog.
For this record, Swift worked alongside Aaron Dessner of The National (co-writing or producing 11 of the LP’s 16 songs), William Bowery (two co-writes), Bon Iver (co-write and a vocal guest spot on one song) and Jack Antonoff, and the result is a hushed record that leans quite heavily into “indie-rock” territory, rather than the polished pop sheen that has exemplified so much of her previous output.

Folklore was met with universal acclaim, and quickly became one of the year’s most successful records, even helping her accomplish something nobody else had done previously in the process.
Well it’s 11/24 and 24-11=13 so I’ve got an announcement 🤓 You haven’t seen this film before ✨ folklore: the long pond studio sessions will be out tonight at midnight PST on @DisneyPlus! #folkloreOnDisneyPlus pic.twitter.com/BTWSRM0yaI

Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Swift has premiered Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Exclusively available on Disney+, the program aims to shed light on the story of Folklore and what went into its creation and recording.
Per a news release:
“folklore: the long pond studio sessions” was filmed in upstate New York in September 2020 and will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, November 25, at 12:01AM PT. Taylor, accompanied by co-producers Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff along with a guest appearance by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), performs each song in order of her critically adored, five star album, “folklore” and for the very first time, reveals the stories and secrets behind all 17 songs.
The technical specifications of the show seem pretty intense, too:
“folklore: the long pond studio sessions” was directed by Taylor Swift and filmed on 6 x Lumix S1H mirrorless cameras with Leica lenses embedded in the studio, along with a one Alexa LF with an Angenieux 24-290 on a Furio robotic camera with 30+ feet of curved track.
This is definitely something fans of Swift and Folklore will want to check out, so if you have Disney+ be sure to watch over the holiday break.
In addition to the concert film, Swift shared an updated version of the Folklore album complete with the new performances. Stream that below:
