Earlier this year, Suzi Quatro — known in music history as the first “breakout” female bass player to become a bona fide “rock star” with a string of international hits in the 1970s — released a new album, No Control.

One of its songs, “Heart on the Line,” appeared on the vinyl edition of No Control as a bonus track, but it has now been released as a single due to especially intense fan reaction. Stream the anthemic power ballad below:

As Quatro explained, the song was re-imagined from its original form to what you heard above due to fans going crazy for it in concert:

I wrote and produced this song especially for the new album, No Control. It was originally an unplugged cut just on the vinyl. Then, how these things go…the public took over at concerts … the song went down a storm at the end of the show, and it was decided by all concerned to re-record … which I did, taking it from unplugged to plugged and back again, it is now an emotional epic. In fact, it is MY HEART ON THE LINE.”

No Control is Suzi Quatro’s 17th studio album, and can be heard below via Spotify:

She’ll be pretty busy on the road for the rest of 2019 and 2020 traveling all across Europe, playing to international audiences. The schedule:
