Over the past few months of COVID-19 pandemic-inspired isolation, Stevie Nicks has been a bastion of hope and optimism on her various social media channels.

The music legend and Fleetwood Mac star has updated fans infrequently with dispatches from home, offering up a glimpse into what she’s doing to bide her time (and how much she loves Harry Styles’ recent album) as well as sharing her reflections on the current state of the world.

The latest update from Nicks came recently, and this time she has a simple message: Wear a mask to combat the virus. But, in typical Stevie Nicks fashion, her message was delivered in poetic structure, the type that makes it difficult to ignore the message at the heart of her post. A snippet from the full post:

“If everyone could just wear a mask and stay in as much as possible — you might be able to find this magical place I have found, in the early morning when everyone sleeps …

And when you wake up, make it your mission to do all that you can to stop the virus before someone you know falls really ill. Because then, you will be too late. Your life will be forever changed.

In order for us to get back to our former lives — we must all change into spiritual warriors — we must make it our mission to fight this virus; otherwise there is nothing left — if we don’t get ahead of this now — we will live with such guilt and regret that it will destroy us.”

The column came from a personal perspective for Grohl, the son of a former public school teacher, and he recorded it on audio to accompany the piece:
