Being driven indoors and out of routine can have some interesting effects on musicians and creators — and it seems to have given Stevie Nicks a pronounced creative streak.
In an updated posted to the Fleetwood Mac legend‘s social channels on Monday, Nicks notes that she’s currently “staying in” with her goddaughters and her assistant, while trying to come up with creative ideas for what to do to pass the time in isolation.
Specifically, Nicks says “I am getting all my paintings and drawings out — listening to music (Mostly Harry Styles’ Fine Line) and being inspired by him to write some new songs and poetry.”
Now — that line about being inspired by Harry Styles is particularly intriguing. Styles has hit it big in a major way with his new album, Fine Line, a record that incorporates a number of styles (sorry) and genres into a very pleasant mix of songs from the ex-One Direction boy band member.
Styles also dazzled the internet (and Peter Gabriel) with a great cover of “Sledgehammer” earlier in the month:
Count us as pretty excited to see what Stevie Nicks may come up with during her time at home, whether music or art or drawings or anything, really.
Being stuck at home has already inspired some creativity in other circles, as Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong took the time in isolation to record a cover of Tommy James & the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now” in his bedroom:
While a host of other musicians and entertainers have also found something fun to do while in isolation themselves — click here for a full roundup.
