Stevie Nicks has spoken up once again regarding her strong wishes for everybody to wear a mask to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

On July 29, the legendary singer shared a passionate post on Instagram imploring everybody to “mask up.”

A snippet from the full post:

“If everyone could just wear a mask and stay in as much as possible — you might be able to find this magical place I have found, in the early morning when everyone sleeps …

And when you wake up, make it your mission to do all that you can to stop the virus before someone you know falls really ill. Because then, you will be too late. Your life will be forever changed.

In order for us to get back to our former lives — we must all change into spiritual warriors — we must make it our mission to fight this virus; otherwise there is nothing left — if we don’t get ahead of this now — we will live with such guilt and regret that it will destroy us.”

Two weeks later, Nicks has shared another meaningful post on her Instagram page, doubling down on her initial plea for people to do what they can to combat the spread of the virus, which continues its hold over what we as a society consider “normal.”

Citing statistics on deaths caused by the virus, the esteemed Fleetwood Mac icon notes:

“A lot of people still aren’t taking the wearing of a simple mask seriously — or, just trying to be aware of how close you are to others. The masks and the distancing have now become a political statement. It is not political. It is a silent killer hiding in the shadows. It is stalking you. It doesn’t care who you are … it’s just looking for a victim.”

Nicks continues with this:

“If I get it, I will probably never sing again. Put me on a ventilator and I will be hoarse for the rest of my life — I don’t have much time … I am 72 years old …”

How will my world or anyone’s world continue if Stevie Nicks stops singing? This is undeniably the greatest argument why we should all wear masks. Thank you Stevie for reminding us how very very important you are, and how very very important your singing is. I certainly don’t want to be stuck listening to the endless amount of songs you’ve already recorded. I’m off to the mask store.
