Walking around the NAMM Show can be a consistently overwhelming experience. From hall to hall at the mega-convention in Anaheim, California, everything’s bustling and crashing and blaring, excited music enthusiasts everywhere you look. It’s because of that cacophony of sounds and sensory overload that finding something truly special is especially rewarding — and the Soundbrenner Core, discovered while I was exploring Hall B this NAMM Show weekend, looked pretty neat.
It’s a watch, but it’s also a tuner, as well as a metronome and … well, it has a ton of features. It can even test dB levels, too!
Here’s a handy bio:
A representative of Soundbrenner was doing a demonstration of how the Core works:
Via a news release, the Core on display at NAMM 2020 is an advanced version of a prototype first debuted at NAMM one year ago:
We showed off the early prototype at Winter NAMM 2019 and now we’ve shipped it. We’ve co-developed the product with musicians from all over the world, raising over $1.6M USD in pre-orders from over 7,369 musicians.
And, like other ‘smart’ watches on the market, the Soundbrenner Core boasts a functionality that includes push notifications, an extended battery life and more.
