This past month, indie-rock darlings Sleater-Kinney released Path of Wellness — their first record in 2 years and first in 25 years without original drummer Janet Weiss.  The album which dropped on June 11th is self-produced by original members Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker and is available now from our Rock Cellar record store.

It’s nearly impossible to replace the beloved Weiss who left the band in 2019, but a trio of drummers/percussionists Angie Boylan, Brian Adrian Koch (Blitzen Trapper) and Vince LiRocchi fill in just fine.  Most long-time fans will forget their Weiss-less disappointment upon hearing the band’s latest – their 10th in 27 years.  Sure, the sound is a little less punch and a little more polish, but that’s what growing up and maturing sometimes does to all of us as we walk our own paths of wellness.
