Robbie Williams Announces New Las Vegas Residency for Spring 2020

0

When English pop superstar Robbie Williams first announced plans for a residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Theatre at the Wynn in Spring 2019, it was a bit uncertain how things would go.

After all, while Williams is a massively successful entity around the world, that usually comes with an asterisk designating *everywhere except the United States*.

Would the shows be successful? Would they sell? Would Robbie Williams be a draw?

Turns out, they did, and he was — and the shows, his first on U.S. soil in nearly twenty years, drew in sold-out crowds of fans from around the world. Each night, backed by his band and some glamorous Vegas dancers, the former member of Take That delighted the crowd with a show of Vegas excess, from classic Rat Pack numbers and more, with a few Robbie Williams originals thrown in for good measure.

On Tuesday, Williams announced a return engagement, again set for the lavish Encore Theatre in Spring 2020.

It’s unclear at this point whether Live In Las Vegas 2020 will be a replica of the first installment — that is, mostly crowd-pleasing covers and standards with a few RW originals. During the first set of shows, the singer did crack jokes that “nobody” in the crowd knew his original songs since this was America, but he also hinted that he might add in more of his own hits should he return.

Now that it’s set in stone, fans can wait and see what to expect — but either way, it’ll be an excellent, unforgettable night of entertainment.
