Outside of his years of music and success with Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas has reached great heights — you probably still have “Smooth,” his 1999 smash-hit single with Santana in your head all the time. On April 26, Thomas will release a new solo album titled Chip Tooth Smile, and he previewed it on Wednesday with a song called “One Less Day (Dying Young).”

As its title might suggest, the song’s a pretty hopeful and reflective with a soaring chorus, with Thomas saying “I’m not afraid of getting older/One less day from dying young” throughout the song’s catch refrain.

Chip Tooth Smile will be Thomas’ fourth solo record, and the first since 2015’s The Great Unknown.

“This is an anthem about life and living,” Thomas said in a statement about his new song. “Living one more day is a privilege not afforded to everyone, so do all you can with the ones you get.”

Rob Thomas will head out on the road in support of the album, playing shows all across North America in the summer. The schedule:
