Ringo Starr & a *Ton* of His Friends End 2020 with the Uplifting ‘Here’s to the Nights,’ Written by Diane Warren

Ringo Starr and a slew of his A-list music icon friends shared a new song on Wednesday, and “Here’s to the Nights” packs more stars into one four-minute song than you might think possible.
The tune was written by Diane Warren and will be featured on a new Ringo EP, Zoom In, set for release in April 2021.
Lyrically, the song is one of hope and uplift — sentiments we all need as 2020 draws to a close:
Here’s to the nights we won’t remember/With the friends we won’t forget/May we think of them forever/As the days that were the best.
In addition to the Beatles legend leading the charge, “Here’s to the Nights” also features backing vocals provided by Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Finneas, Sheryl Crow, Chris Stapleton, Lenny Kravitz, Ben Harper, Dave Grohl, Jenny Lewis, Corinne Bailey Rae, Eric Burton, and Yola, while the backing instrumentation is delivered via Steve Lukather of Toto, Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bruce Sugar, Nathan East, Charlie Bisharat, and Jacob Braun.

Said Ringo Starr of the song in a statement, via UDiscoverMusic:
“When Diane presented this song to me I loved the sentiment of it. This is the kind of song we all want to sing along to, and it was so great how many wonderful musicians joined in. I wanted it out in time for New Years’ because it feels like a good song to end a tough year on. So here’s to the nights we won’t remember and the friends we won’t forget – and I am wishing everyone peace and love for 2021.”

Waiting for Robert Catesby’s peppy new release…
THATS YOUR OPNION NOTHING MORE , IT’S A GREAT SONG IT ROCKS ON IT’S OWN,,
Too slow, especially considering the subject matter. It plods when it should kick. It doesn’t rock. Sorry, Ringo, love you but not this record. Merry Christmas!
