This coming Oct. 2, 2020 marks the 25th anniversary — to the date — that Oasis released its 1995 album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, one of the biggest albums of its era and an enduring Britpop classic to this day.

To commemorate the occasion and properly honor the album that gave the world “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and further established the embittered Gallagher brothers a place in music history all their own, Oasis will release a special vinyl reissue of the album, as a limited-edition picture disc and a 2-LP silver vinyl.

This will be the second revamped reissue of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? to come in recent years, as Oasis also issued a remastered version in 2014 (click here to pick up a copy of that).

Accompanying the news of the 25th anniversary vinyl is the tease of “special celebratory activity,” which sounds intriguing if not vague:

Whether you like Oasis or not, there’s no denying the impact (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? had on the world when it was released. “Wonderwall” alone has become a pretty popular meme on social media channels, for example, stemming from the relative simplicity of the song’s chord progression.

The album made Oasis an even bigger deal than the band already was coming after its groundbreaking 1994 debut, Definitely Maybeclick here for a feature on that debut record’s legacy — and this 25th anniversary vinyl reissue will be worth it for fans who just can’t get enough of it.
