Oasis‘ 1997 album Be Here Now was a big, some say bloated album that followed the band’s mega-hit 1995 record (What’s the Story?) Morning Glory.
By this time, the brothers Gallagher — Noel and Liam — were two of the biggest rock stars on the planet, and the music on Be Here Now was elaborate, indulgent, and fitting for a highly anticipated record from one of the most ‘important’ bands of the era.
While persistent rumors have circulated (and been denied) regarding the chance of an actual reunion, this week Oasis announced Chasing The Sun: 1993-1997 Edition, a big reissue celebrating Be Here Now, which is approaching its 20th anniversary. The reissue will be out on October 7, and features a lot of material:
This new reissue is the third in Oasis’ series of expanded editions of their beloved 1990s’ records.
As a preview, Noel worked on a new mix of the single D’You Know What I Mean?, which is available to stream now:
As you might imagine, the Be Here Now reissue will be available in a few different formats:
* Standard CD & digital download
* Special Edition 3 x CD & Deluxe digital download
* 12” vinyl LP with download code for the bonus content
* Super Deluxe Box Set – including LP, Special Edition 3 x CD, hardback coffee table book with new sleeve notes, exclusive vinyl plus a 12” white label sampler of the Mustique demos and Oasis merchandise
It’s all up for pre-order on the band’s official site now, so take a look if you’re so inclined.
In a bit of related news, it looks like Liam is getting ready to make his return to music at some point relatively soon:
