On Oct. 16, a long-anticipated release from the Tom Petty vaults will finally be unleashed when Wildflowers & All the Rest is released by the Petty estate. The expanded version of Petty‘s acclaimed 1994 album has been previewed in recent weeks, leading up to the official release.

Wildflowers was among Tom Petty’s favorite releases, and the new box set is a tribute to the man’s creative vision — and a must-have for fans.

Live from the Forum MMXVIII is a new concert film/album from the Eagles‘ September 2018 multi-night run at the Forum in Los Angeles. These special performances saw Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, son of the late Glenn Frey, join Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit for career-spanning concerts that also served as a loving musical tribute to Frey, who passed away in 2016.

The set captures definitive live performances of the band’s most iconic hits (“Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” “Life In The Fast Lane,” “Desperado”) and beloved album tracks (“Ol’ 55, “Those Shoes”), along with some of the individual members’ biggest solo smashes (Henley’s “Boys Of Summer,” Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way,” and Gill’s “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away”).

Allman Brothers BandThe Final Note Live Album (Click here to buy from our Rock Cellar Store)

Duane Allman, guitarist and founder of The Allman Brothers Band, saw his burgeoning career and young life cut short when he died in a motorcycle accident on Oct. 29, 1971.

Twelve days earlier, the Allman Brothers played a concert at the Painters Mill Music Fair in Owings Mills, MD — Duane’s final gig, as it turned out — and this week, a newly-surfaced recording of that fateful concert will be released by the band as an album titled The Final Note.

Def Leppard ‘Hysteria at the 02’ & ‘Hits Vegas’ Live Albums (Click here and here to buy from our Rock Cellar Store)

A pair of live albums are coming this week from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, standalone audio versions of Hysteria at the O2 and Hits Vegas: Live from Planet Hollywood, both of which were previously included in a limited edition box set.

Hysteria at the O2 brings together recordings from Def Leppard’s homecoming show in London in December 2018, while Hits Vegas captures the magic of the band’s Las Vegas residency six months later — shortly after their Rock Hall induction, when the vibe surrounding the band was celebratory and explosive.

The StrutsStrange Days (Click here to buy from our Rock Cellar Store)

Written and recorded in just 10 days after the band members each received negative COVID-19 tests and moved into the home of producer Jon Levine, U.K. glam/pop band The Struts put together a 10-song set of new music featuring collaborations with Robbie Williams, Tom Morello, Albert Hammond Jr. and Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and Phil Collen.

It’s out this week.

BeabadoobeeFake It Flowers (Click here to buy from our Rock Cellar Store)

The buzz surrounding indie/rock singer/songwriter Beabadoobee has been inescapable in recent months, and this week the 20-year-old phenom releases her debut full-length collection of new music after previously releasing a series of EPs.

Led by a series of pre-release singles that capture her grungy, heart-on-sleeve brand of dreamy songwriting, this record comes with significant anticipation — and ought to make her an even bigger deal among indie circles and beyond.

This list barely scratches the surface of the new music releases coming this week, but it’s a start!
