Neil Young with Crazy Horse will release a new album, Colorado, on Oct. 25. The band will also release an accompanying documentary film titled Mountaintop, news that was announced with the album when it was first revealed.
Additionally, the Mountaintop film will screen in movie theaters for one night only, on Oct. 22, in advance of the album’s release shortly thereafter.
Mountaintop‘s official synopsis:
A raw and extremely unfiltered look at the process of Neil Young with Crazy Horse making their 1st album in 7 years. Witness the laughter, tensions, crusty attitudes & love of a rock & roll band that’s been together for 50 years as they share their passion, first and foremost … for the music.
The Mountaintop film has its own website dedicated to the short theatrical run, with a list of participating states and theaters taking part — click here to view that.
As for the album, Colorado will be Neil Young’s first Crazy Horse album since 2012’s Psychedelic Pill. So far, it’s been previewed with a pair of songs.

Word about the album, originally posted at the Neil Young Archives site:
“The first track from COLORADO, our next Crazy Horse album, is coming out this month. Billy, Ralphie, Nils and I are all very happy to bring ‘Rainbow of Colors’ to you in all its ragged glory, as my original producer and life-long friend, the late David Briggs once said.
10 new songs ranging 3 minutes to over 13 minutes, will be coming your way. We hope you love this new album as much as we do. “
