Guitarist Joe Perry has had an impeccable career on the six-string for Aerosmith, and he’ll be given the honor he deserves at the NAMM Show this January.
On Saturday, January 21, Perry will receive the Les Paul Award at the 2017 TEC Awards, while Aerosmith’s longtime producer, Jack Douglas, will also be feted at the event.
The TEC Awards are one of the highlights of the NAMM Show each year. As is the custom, Perry is also slated to perform at the event. More on the TEC Award:
The annual award is given on behalf of the Les Paul Foundation and honors individuals that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of recording technology in the spirit of the famed audio pioneer, inventor and musician, Les Paul.
Perry’s selection this year adds him to a list of industry stalwarts that have received the Les Paul Award in recent years: Don Was in 2016, Slash in 2015 and Todd Rundgren in 2014.
Outstanding Technical Achievement and Outstanding Creative Achievement nominees were announced earlier for the Saturday, January 21 event. Tickets can be purchased on site or in advance here for $50 (General Admission) or $175 (VIP). The show will be hosted by comedian Sinbad and will be available via a live event web stream during The NAMM Show.
