Few musical groups can survive for decades — but Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem is a special breed.

For years (and years, and years), the Muppets‘ house band has been a consistent source of excellent musical entertainment, and just this week the ensemble shared a reverent cover of “Mr. Blue Sky,” the classic anthem from Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra.

The corresponding music video was featured in this past weekend’s YouTube documentary Dear Earth:

Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem first made their debut in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, the 1975 debut of what would go on to be a beloved series — and, eventually, an empire of subsequent films, television shows and other projects, which continue to this day.

The group popped up at some recent live Muppets-related events, making for a fun time:

The years roll by, but Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem just continue to impress.
