It’s Monday, so that means it’s time for another #MetallicaMondays concert streaming event from Metallica — but on Friday evening, the thrash-metal icons premiered a new take on an old-school classic, the product of some COVID-19-inspired isolation recording at the respective homes of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo.

Turning the normally frantic, energetic song into a brooding, haunting, mostly acoustic affair, this reinvention of the song works exceedingly well:

As for the weekly Metallica live series #MetallicaMondays, tonight’s gig is Live at House of Vans from London, England circa 2016.
