Blink-182 bassist/songwriter/punk rock icon Mark Hoppus took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to share an update regarding his cancer fight, something he went public with back in June and has been detailing at length in the months since with more social media posts, Twitch streams and beyond.

And, after several rounds of chemotherapy, he revealed that he is cancer-free!

Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer free!! Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love. Still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?

The intimate details shared by Hoppus revealed some harsh realities of cancer treatment, about which he spared no detail while commenting back and forth with some of his fans on his Twitch page:

“I mean, it’s making me sick. I will say though, that this round of chemo I feel better than I have before. The only thing is that this round I’ve been more nauseous, which I don’t like. … On good days, I go do stuff. I went on a walk outside today and it was the first time I’d left my house in like … five days pretty much. But this round of chemo I wasn’t totally stuck on the couch, miserable. I’ve actually watched movies and walked around and cleaned the house and hung out with my dogs. I didn’t just feel like a poisoned electrified zombie leaned up against an electric fence like I did the past couple of rounds.”

Continued best wishes to Mark Hoppus on his ongoing recovery and getting back to full strength.
