On July 30, Los Lobos will return with a new covers album, Native Sons, which is billed as a “love letter to Los Angeles,” the hometown of the legendary rock/Tex-Mex/Latin rock band that has defied genre classification for decades.

Released via New West Records, the 13-song set features a number of musical tributes to the region, including salutes to Thee Midniters, The Beach Boys, WAR, Buffalo Springfield, Jackson Browne, and more.

Los Lobos’ take on “Love Special Delivery,” originally by East Lost Angeles’ The Midniters (who were among the first Chicano rock bands to land a major hit in the U.S.), was premiered via Variety as a preview of the record:

As was a reinvention of the Beach Boys’ classic “Sail On, Sailor”:

3. Bluebird / For What It’s Worth
4. Los Chucos Suaves
5. Jamaica Say You Will
