Less Than Jake: Ska/Punk Vets’ New Album ‘Silver Linings’ Out Now, Live Stream Concert Tonight 12/11

Gainesville, Florida’s own Less Than Jake returned on Friday with a new album titled Silver Linings. It’s the veteran ska-punk band‘s ninth studio album to date, and comes with the premiere of a new video for “Keep On Chasing”:
By now, Less Than Jake are true veterans of the scene, having outlasted the Vans Warped Tour (which they played many times) and many of their peers in the ska scene — so it’s great to see them forging ahead with new music. And Silver Linings is very much what you’d hope it’d be, 12 songs packed into a tidy 36 minutes of high-energy ska/punk with the band’s signature melancholy lyrics.

Said saxophonist JR Wasilewski of the new record:
“To say that the release of ‘Silver Linings’ is a just culmination of almost two years of work would be an understatement. It’s the continuation of an almost 30 year saga. We are so proud of these songs and we hope our fans love it as much as we do. If there can be any Silver Linings to 2020, we hope our new album is one for you!”
The band would ordinarily be out pounding the pavement hard in support of a new record, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made that an impossibility. Instead, Less Than Jake will host a live stream concert, the band’s first-ever, today, Dec. 11, promising all kinds of entertainment for fans:
We present to you, LATE NIGHT WITH LTJ, our first livestream event ever! We will be jamming some classic songs and you can bet we have a few surprises up our sleeves!

“We thought just playing to a bunch of cameras could be kind of weird, so we had to do some stuff to make the show more us,” explains bassist and vocalist Roger Lima. “I’m super stoked for this night since it’s also release day! Come join us for a rare and memorable celebration! We’ll be jamming some classics along with songs off of our new album. You can bet that we have a few surprises up our sleeves as well … ”
