Watch L7’s New Video for ‘Burn Baby,’ Off Their First Album in 20 Years (Coming in May)

On Thursday, grunge icons L7 announced a new album. Scatter the Rats, which will be released via Joan Jett’s Blackhearts Records, will be the band’s first proper album since 1999’s Slap-Happy, so this news comes with a bit of anticipation. It comes four years after the band announced some reunion shows and activity, which ended a prolonged era without much of anything going on in that regard.
Further ramping up the excitement, L7 also premiered a new video for a deliciously grunge-y song titled “Burn Baby” as a preview of the record:

“When we decided to make a new record, Joan was there for us as the good friend she has always been,” said guitarist/vocalist Donita Sparks in a statement shared by Spin. “So great to stomp into Blackheart Records with her at the helm. We’re very excited to work with Joan and the entire Blackheart family. Just imagine the family dinners!”
L7 will take part in Rancid’s upcoming The Bash: Music & Craft Beer Festival (alongside Suicidal Tendencies, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and H20) later this year, the dates:
