Keane's Tom Chaplin Going Solo with New LP 'The Wave'; Watch His New Music Video for "Quicksand"
Tom Chaplin, the voice of the East Sussex, England, keyboard-dominant alt-pop band Keane, has issued his first stateside solo single, “Quicksand.” The song will be on Chaplin’s debut solo CD, The Wave, when it hits the US January 13, 2017. The Wave came out in the UK in October.
Chaplin’s solo turn comes three years after Keane’s most recent CD, The Best of Keane. Just as that CD was coming out rumors were rampant that Keane would be splitting up, but Chaplin quelled those rumors quickly, telling Real Radio Yorkshire that they weren’t ending, but rather that the members were taking “a bit of time out from being Keane.”
The Wave, which features 11 tracks written by Chaplin, was produced by Matt Hales (aka Aqualung) and recorded in Pasadena, California, and in London.
Since forming in 1995, Keane has two Top-10 albums and two Grammy nominations (including Best New Artist) in the US.
Chaplin will head over to North America for some tour dates around the US release of the record, view his schedule below:
