The Jimi Hendrix vaults have been revisited frequently in recent years, as seminal records from the gifted and legendary guitarist were reintroduced to new audiences in remastered, deluxe editions.

Next up is Band of Gypsys, Hendrix’s 1970 live album, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020. Due out March 27 via Capitol/UMe, some special anniversary vinyl editions will be released to mark the occasion.

Here’s a trailer for the lavish new set:

Jimi Hendrix was a singular talent, the type that commanded full attention upon first listen — as various rock and roll icons told us in a 2017 feature about Hendrix’ untouchable legacy.

More on the Band of Gypsys set, via a news release:

The unique color vinyl edition will be available exclusively through AuthenticHendrix.com. All editions of the Band of Gypsys 50th anniversary LP will be packaged with an eight-page booklet filled with rare images from the concerts and an essay by John McDermott. “This is more than the commemoration of an anniversary,” said Janie Hendrix, President and CEO of Experience Hendrix, “that, of course, is something momentous, but it is also the celebration of a cathartic event in Jimi’s life…a sort of changing of the guards. He demonstrated that there was no limit to his musical landscape. It was broad and beautiful, and like the leader of a true band of gypsies, Jimi could go anywhere on the spectrum of genres and be at home there musically!  This is our way of celebrating that part of Jimi’s journey.”

And the track listing for the LP:

1) Who Knows
2) Machine Gun
Recorded January 1, 1970 Early Show
1) Changes

3) Message To Love
4) We Gotta Live Together
