Jeff Slate is a New York-based singer/songwriter with a prolific solo career — in addition to being a rock music journalist. He’s a regular contributor to Rock Cellar (if you read our recent features on The Go-Go’s — click here — or the Psychedelic Furs — click here — you’ve read his work).

Today, Aug. 14, Slate released Lockdown Live, a collection of performances he’s recorded during his many live stream #AtHome performances shared on social media over the past few months of COVID-19 pandemic-mandated lockdown. Among the songs are some originals from his own career as well as a number of covers of the likes of Tom Petty, Warren Zevon, John Prine, George Harrison and Bob Dylan — a LOT of Bob Dylan, as the entire second disc of the release is Dylan covers.
