This weekend brings with it another archival stream from the Grateful Dead archives, another installment in the jam band‘s Shakedown Stream series set to air on YouTube beginning at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT on Friday, June 12.

This week’s trip back through time takes Dead Heads to 1991 and the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, just outside San Jose. Prior to the concert stream, Bruce Hornsby will sit down with the pre-show hosts for a conversation:

This Friday, during the SHAKEDOWN STREAM PRE-SHOW, Bruce will be hanging out and chatting with David and Gary. Wanna hear more about what it was like to perform with the Dead? His fondest memories of @jerrygarcia? His creative songwriting process? You can submit your questions to Bruce, and David and Gary, by clicking the link in the bio.

Then, sit tight for the SHAKEDOWN STREAM. This week we’re watching the complete, previously unreleased Grateful Dead concert, Shoreline, 5/11/91, featuring–you guessed it–Bruce Hornsby.⁣

All donations will go to the @naacp.⁣

The fun kicks off Friday, June 12 at 8pm ET/5pm PST on the Grateful Dead YouTube Channel. And don’t be shy, friends. Swing by a bit early and mingle with other Dead Heads in the live chat. ⁣

Grammy-Award winning keyboardist and vocalist @brucehornsby played over 100 shows with the @gratefuldead between 1988 to 1995 and even delivered the band’s induction speech into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame (@rockhall) in 1994.⁣ ⁣ As far as we’re concerned, he’s family.⁣ ⁣ This Friday, during the SHAKEDOWN STREAM PRE-SHOW, Bruce will be hanging out and chatting with David and Gary. The stream will go live at the Grateful Dead YouTube page, so just tune in to the below when it goes “live” or after the fact, should you be elsewhere when it all begins.

As has been the case for most weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legendary jam band doesn’t let a weekend pass by without offering up some treasures from the vault, a great way to keep fans entertained at home during these strange times.

Dead and Company, meanwhile, will continue their own weekly stream on Saturday, June 13 with a replay of the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, Va., in 2018.

That stream will go up at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT on the Dead and Company YouTube page:
