There’s plenty of activities to keep Grateful Dead fans occupied this weekend.

On Friday, a lavish and detailed 50th anniversary edition of the band‘s 1970 album Workingman’s Dead was released — click here for more on that — and on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively, the vaults belonging to the Dead and Dead & Company will be raided once again for the bands’ weekly archival streaming series.

Friday, July 10, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT, the Grateful Dead’s Shakedown Stream will air Carter-Finley Stadium 7/10/90 on YouTube, complete with a pre-show featuring none other than John Mayer, renowned guitarist and current member of Dead & Company.

The stream will go up on the official Dead YouTube channel at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT, so don’t miss it:

Dead & Company, meanwhile, will continue its One More Saturday Night weekly stream with a flashback to July 14, 2018 at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo.

As is the case with all of Dead & Company’s streaming events, this one will be a fundraiser:

We will be fundraising for @reverb_org who are dedicated to empowering millions of music lovers and music makers to take part in tackling today’s most pressing environmental and social issues.

The show will go up on the band’s YouTube channel at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT on Saturday, July 11.

As has been the case for most weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legendary jam band doesn’t let a weekend pass by without offering up some treasures from the vault, a great way to keep fans entertained at home during these strange times.
