On Tuesday, the official list of nominations for the 64th Grammy Awards were announced via a live stream.

An interesting note from Variety explained a key change instilled for this year’s nomination and voting process, with the nomination procedures going with a popular vote and eliminating the controversial “secret committees” that had curated the final lists in recent decades.

This partly led to an intriguing assortment of acts with the most nominations. Jon Batiste, the soul/jazz artist who is also the musical director of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and composed the music for the soundtrack to Disney and Pixar’s Soul, leads all nominations with 11, while H.E.R, Doja Cat and Justin Bieber are next with eight.

On the rock/alternative music side of things, Japanese Breakfast, Arlo Parks and St. Vincent earned Best Alternative Album nominations, while Foo Fighters, AC/DC and Paul McCartney are among the acts up for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song.

Below, peruse information about how to watch the 2022 Grammy Awards, followed by the list of key Grammy nominations straight from the Grammys website.
