It’s been a long time coming, but on June 20 Madison Square Garden in New York City will host a live, in-person concert from the Foo Fighters — and Dave Grohl and the guys are stoked about being the act to bring NYC its first 100% capacity crowd in a New York arena since March 2020, before the pandemic took hold.

“We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year,” said Grohl. “And Madison Square Garden is going to feel that HARD. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together to 26 years of Foos.”

This is exciting news, obviously, serving as a significant development in the return of live music on a grand scale. It’s also the latest bit of tour news from the Foo Fighters, whose delayed 25th anniversary tour (now a 26th anniversary tour, technically) recently begun its rollout with some big dates for later in the year:

• July 28 – The Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center – Cincinnati, OH
• July 30 – American Family Insurance Amphitheater – Milwaukee, WI
• August 3 – Hollywood Casino Amphitheater – St. Louis, MO
• August 5 – Azura Amphitheater – Bonner Springs, KS
• August 7 – The Zoo Amphitheater – Oklahoma City, OK
• August 9 – Isleta Amphitheater – Albuquerque, NM

A news release notes that, FF fans are advised to keep a watchful eye on foofighters.com and the band’s socials for a crapload more shows to be announced.

Once these shows get underway, they’ll mark the band’s first since the release of Medicine at Midnight, the Foos’ at times adventurous new studio album that was released in February 2021.
