Faith No More could be up to something once again. Over the weekend, the experimental rock band fronted by Mike Patton sent out a tease on its social media channels.
Fully aware of what posting anything along these lines would suggest, the caption — “pssst …” is tailor made to garner even more rumors and online buzz, so mission accomplished!
The most recent activity from Faith No More came a few years back, when the band reconvened to release a new album, 2015’s Sol Invictus. After touring for that record, the band was said to be on another ‘extended hiatus,’ but a tease of activity online would certainly suggest that the break is up and more activity is coming … soon.
Setlist.fm cites an August 2016 concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles as the most recent FNM concert to date, so anything potentially coming in 2020 would be the band’s first in four years. Patton, meanwhile, has a few special Mr. Bungle concerts coming up in February, as well.
Should anybody be thinking about the likelihood of Faith No More turning up at the polo fields at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April 2020, it’s worth noting that the band did previously appear there, way back in 2010.
Stay tuned …
