These will be the only Eric Clapton U.S. tour dates in 2020. In Spring 2021, he’ll embark on a European outing, the rescheduled edition of a planned tour that was moved due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in Europe.

On the subject of COVID, this news from Clapton comes about a month after he detailed the particularly harsh reaction he says he experienced after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine in a story that made waves around the internet (especially after Clapton’s recent work with Van Morrison on one of Morrison’s “anti-lockdown” songs):

“I took the first jab of AZ and straight away had severe reactions which lasted ten days. I recovered eventually and was told it would be twelve weeks before the second one …,” reads Clapton’s letter.

“About six weeks later I was offered and took the second AZ shot, but with a little more knowledge of the dangers. Needless to say the reactions were disastrous, my hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burning, and pretty much useless for two weeks, I feared I would never play again, (I suffer with peripheral neuropathy and should never have gone near the needle.) But the propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone…”

Clapton and Van Morrison have since released another song together, “The Rebels.” Take a listen:
