Dolly Parton received the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, a month after promising she wouldn’t “jump the line” to receive hers just because she could.

It’s the Moderna vaccine that the 75-year-old country music icon helped fund, you may recall, with a $1 million donation that helped fund vaccine research a few months ago. After waiting her turn, Parton got the shot on Tuesday, and took the opportunity to speak directly to her millions of fans and impart some wisdom.

Namely: Go get the vaccine, if you can. “I just want to say to all of you cowards out there: Don’t be such a chicken squat, get out there and get your shot,” Dolly urges in her video, even going so far as to amend the lyrics to “Jolene” for the occasion:

“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine/I’m begging of you, please, don’t hesitate/Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine/’Cause once you’re dead, then that’s a bit too late.”

In addition to waiting patiently for her turn with the vaccine, Dolly Parton also recently told Tennessee state legislators to stop erecting a statue in her honor, offering up this classic Dolly quote to explain her reasoning:

“I am honored and humbled by their intention but I have asked the leaders of the state legislature to remove the bill from any and all consideration.

“Given all that is going on in the world, I don’t think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. I hope, though, that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I’m gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I’m certain I will stand proud in our great state Capitol as a grateful Tennessean.”

Never change, Dolly.
