On Oct. 2, Los Angeles-based indie/rock band Dawes will release a new album, Good Luck With Whatever, on Rounder Records.

The acclaimed band is now six albums deep in its career, and Good Luck With Whatever marks their first with new label home, Rounder. Judging by this new music video, Dawes still has the same knack for amusing videos paired with thoughtful, inspired songwriting.

“Who Do You Think You’re Talking To” finds the band — Taylor Goldsmith (guitars, vocals), Griffin Goldsmith (drums), Wylie Gelber (bass), Lee Pardini (keys) — almost having TOO much fun with green screen technology, first with Taylor’s eccentric night drive and later with … well, just so much more.

Good Luck With Whatever follows Dawes’ 2018 album Passwords, and is also the first release from the band since Taylor Goldsmith worked with his wife, Mandy Moore, on her solid 2019 record Silver Landings.

Said Goldsmith of Dawes’ new material:

“In the past, I’ve definitely been more precious about the way I wanted the songs to sound, but that’s never as fun. The music we make is everyone’s mode of expression, and the other guys all have chops that I don’t have and never will. The fact that we’re able to lean on each other and celebrate each other as individuals just makes us so much more excited about getting to play together in this band.”

And the track listing:

None Of My Business
