The Von Trapped Family live stream #2! #ATheatreForDreamers

Posted by David Gilmour on Thursday, April 9, 2020

Those of us looking for a distraction from the coronavirus news cycle, here’s a good one. On Thursday at 8:30 p.m. BST / 3:30 p.m. EDT/12:30 p.m. PDT, David Gilmour will take part in a live stream event with his wife, author/journalist/lyricist/Pink Floyd collaborator Polly Samson.

This will be the second #ATheatreForDreamers live stream event, named after Samson’s new novel of the same name and meant as a celebration of the book release (as original promotional plans were scrapped due to the pandemic). The first event streamed via Gilmour’s Facebook page last week — filmed at home during quarantine — and was a delightful mix of readings, conversations and Leonard Cohen covers:

David Gilmour announced the new event on Facebook, teasing it with a clip of himself practicing guitar to the Leonard Cohen song “Hey, That’s No Way to Say Goodbye”:

Our Von Trapped family (as Polly Samson has christened us) is back for a second #ATheatreForDreamers live stream tomorrow (Thursday) at 8.30pm BST / 3.30pm ET. Here’s a little video of me rehearsing another Leonard song to play. We’ll see you tomorrow here on Facebook.

Seems like a great way to spend some time staring at the screen of your laptop or mobile device, doesn’t it? Tune in to Gilmour’s Facebook page on Thursday to watch it live — or later on via replay, as it won’t be going anywhere if you miss it as it happens.
