Today, beloved band Crowded House returns with a new album, and it’s been a long time coming.

Dreamers Are Waiting is the first bit of new material from the band since 2010, and is the result of their reformation in 2019.

Said front man Neil Finn of the new record in a statement:

“It’s finally come around … Dreamers need wait no more. The album is out today and I hope you will have a chance to luxuriate in a quiet place with a record player or a set of headphones to listen front to back to these songs. I’m really proud of this record and, fresh from a joyous round of shows, extremely thrilled to have this Crowded House lineup in action. We have lots more to do, feel a strong urge to be on stage in front of you and become an even better band.

Said Finn of that song above, “Playing With Fire”:

“This song was formed out of a Crowded House jam, live in the studio but then evolved its character through many twists and turns during quarantine in 2020. ‘Playing With Fire’ carries within it the contradiction I often feel on joyous occasions, the presence of hope together with an impending sense of doom.”
