For the past 22 years, English pop star Robbie Williams has been an international phenomenon with a number of iconic, smash-hit songs involving songwriter/producer Guy Chambers — and on May 3, Chambers will celebrate his songs with Williams on his solo debut album. Titled Go Gentle Into the Night, the album will feature Chambers re imagining many of his hits with Williams as solo piano recordings. Among the songs included are several of Williams’ biggest hits to date, including “Angels,” “Millennium” and “Supreme,” among others. On May 31, longtime Guns N’ Roses bassist and Seattle music icon Duff McKagan will release Tenderness, a long-awaited new solo album that was produced by Shooter Jennings, who also appears on the record as a musician. Netflix’s Stranger Things series tells the coming-of-age story of a group of young friends who are thrust face-to-face with some really weird, freaky otherworldly demons and frightening creatures. Woodstock 50, a 50th anniversary mega-concert event set for Watkins Glen — near the original site of the 1969 Woodstock concert event in Bethel, New York — revealed its lineup on Tuesday night. On May 3, the Dream Syndicate will release a new album titled These Times, the follow-up to 2017’s How Did I Find Myself Here? and just the second album since 1988. The psychedelic rock band known for its roots in the Paisley Underground scene of the 1980s premiered a video for a track called “Put Some Miles On,” a song whose title has a double meaning alluding to both passing time on the road and listening with appreciation to the influential jazz trumpeter, Miles Davis. Florida’s New Found Glory have premiered another song from their upcoming EP of movie theme songs, and this one’s just about perfect. “This Is Me” is one of the standout songs from the phenomenally successful soundtrack to The Greatest Showman, and the pop-punk veterans have tackled the inspirational tune as part of the upcoming From the Screen to the Stereo 3 EP due out May 3 via Hopeless Records. Sad news this weekend, as Dick Dale, surf-rock legendlegend known for his iconic and ubiquitous classic “Misirlou,” has passed away at the age of 81, per reports (originally by California Rocker and later updated and confirmed by the Guardian).
