These days, Grateful Dead fans have plenty of ways to stay entertained while at home during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic — and Weir Wednesdays, a weekly series from esteemed Dead icon Bob Weir, is one of them.

So far, many of the Weir Wednesdays streams have featured live gigs from Bob Weir & Wolf Bros., his touring project with Don Was and Jay Lane. This week’s show, airing on Wednesday, May 20, flashes back to 2012 at Weir’s TRI Studios for a special performance featuring members of the National and Walter Martin of the Walkmen:

This week’s Weir Wednesday features a very special rebroadcast of ‘The Bridge Session’, filmed live on March 24th, 2012 at TRI Studios to benefit HeadCount. Produced by HeadCount and directed by Justin Kreutzmann, this studio performance features members of The National and Walter Martin exploring songs of the Dead and The National

This is a solid way for Bob Weir to keep fans occupied, especially since Weir and his Wolf Bros. pals had to cancel their remaining 2020 tour dates due to the pandemic in late April.

In terms of other Grateful Dead-related programming available to fans during the pandemic, there’s also the Shakedown Stream each Friday on the Dead’s YouTube page and Dead & Company’s One More Saturday night, as well.
