In 2005, Bloc Party released its debut album, Silent Alarm, a record led by the single “Banquet” that put the band on the map in a big way.
Earning the band a Mercury Prize nomination and near-unanimous critical appraisal, the album is something of a classic in indie/rock circles, and this fall the band will head out on a short U.S. tour performing the song in its entirety each night.
Bloc Party are Kele Okereke (vocals, guitar), Russell Lissack (guitar), Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums).
