It’s here. Below, listen to “My Future,” a brand new single from Billie Eilish, as premiered on Thursday afternoon with an animated music video:

Said Eilish about the track in a statement to fans:

“It’s a song that’s really really personal and special to me. When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at—hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self reflection and self growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”

The song came after a tease earlier this week, when the alt/pop phenom drew the world’s attention when she announced, via Instagram, that she would be premiering a new song titled “My Future,” today, Thursday, July 30.

The 18-year-old followed up the initial announcement of the impending single premiere with a short snippet, also shared to her Instagram page:

“My Future” could also be a preview of an upcoming album from Eilish, whose March 2019 debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? made waves around the world and catapulted the Southern California-based singer/songwriter (and her brother/producer/collaborator, Finneas), to superstardom.

It was Billie Eilish who tied a seemingly unbreakable record of GRAMMY success at the 2019 awards ceremony when she took home Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. In winning each of those four categories, Eilish did something that had only been done once in GRAMMY history, in 1981 by singer Christopher Cross.

What does Billie Eilish have in store for her next act? We’ll wait and see, but it’s probably going to be huge regardless.
