The Bernie Sanders Meme is a Perfect Fit on Classic Album Covers (Beatles, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac & More)

Earlier this week, a simple image made its way onto the internet: United States Senator Bernie Sanders, sitting in folding chair at the Inauguration Day events in Washington, D.C. … and a meme was born.
Two days later, it’s downright impossible to check any of your social media feeds without seeing Bernie, cross legged, arms folded, masked and wearing some oversized mittens, Photoshopped into a classic album cover, iconic movie scene or the like. It’s the newest meme, and it’s unstoppable.

It has its own Topps baseball card (no, really). Instagram and Snapchat developed filters to further spread its influence. Bernie Sanders himself (and his team) turned it into a chance to sell sweatshirts to raise money for Meals on Wheels Vermont.
But back to the album covers … it’s a bit shocking how well so many of them look with Bernie sitting there, freezing, on the front cover.
Loudwire put together a bunch of hard rock/metal-inspired versions:

An Instagram account even popped up to capitalize on the frenzy of attention. Titled @TheBernieAlbums, it’s a crowd-sourced collection of some of the most impressive memes out there.

Interesting alternate cover for Abbey Road there…
Surely on the cover of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers – sitting next to Eric Clapton who is reading the Beano!
