Benjamin Keough, the 27-year-old son of Lisa Marie Presley and the grandson of Elvis Presley, has died of a suspected suicide, it was reported by TMZ on Sunday.

Per TMZ‘s report, Keough appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Calabasas, Calif.

Lisa Marie Presley’s manager issued a statement on her behalf to media outlets:

“She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

In 1998, Lisa Marie Presley married musician Danny Keough, and the couple had two children, Benjamin Keough and Riley Keough, before divorcing in 1994 (at which point Lisa Marie married Michael Jackson).

In 2012, Lisa Marie Presley released a special music video for “I Love You Because,” a duet with her father and a glimpse into family photos and scenes of the King’s grandchildren, including Benjamin Keough:

Speaking with CMT in 2012, Lisa Marie explained how everybody backstage at the Opry was struck by how much Benjamin resembled his grandfather:

“He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage! (laughs) Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny. Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him.’

May Benjamin Keough rest in peace, and may Lisa Marie Presley and her family find peace in these most tragic of circumstances.
