In a recent interview with Rock Cellar, Kate Pierson of The B-52s discussed her band’s lengthy career and legacy (and aspirations of future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame enshrinement, among other topics) — and later this year the group will embark on a special tour to mark its 40th anniversary.
The tour was announced on Tuesday, and will be comprised of a lengthy North American run of shows in the fall, with special guests Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Berlin.

“Dust off those go-go boots and shine your dancing shoes because the B-52s are coming,” said band member Fred Schneider.
“Who knew that when we played our first house dance party in Athens, Georgia in 1976 that we would be still be rocking the house in 2019,” added Pierson.
