Prophets of Rage, the supergroup featuring Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford as well as B-Real of Cypress Hill and Public Enemy’s Chuck D. have announced their first official release a band: The Party’s Over, a five-song EP that will be out on August 25. Featuring two studio recordings and three live cuts, the EP is the band’s first recorded output to go along with their ongoing North American tour dates. On October 21, Bon Jovi will release a new album titled This House is Not For Sale. Tickets for Tenacious D’s Festival Supreme 2016 have gone on sale today, Friday, via AXS.com. Today, August 10, marks the 20th anniversary of two of the biggest gigs Oasis ever performed – headlining two consecutive nights at Knebworth Park, playing to more than 250,000 people over the two gigs. For decades, Bruce Springsteen has entertained fans around the world with his authentic, heart-on-sleeve music, and on September 27 he’ll tell his story in his own words. Legendary musician/songwriter David Crosby will return on October 21 with Lighthouse, a new solo album that comes after his previous, 2014’s Croz (which he spoke with us about for a feature chat). Billed as a ‘raw, stripped-down’ collection of 9 new recordings, Lighthouse definitely sounds quite intriguing: Lighthouse features a rare economy of sound, filled primarily by Crosby’s voice and guitars, and Michael League of Snarky Puppy’s skillful production. On Sunday night, indie king Sufjan Stevens and his nine-piece band of neon-clad backing musicians/dancers took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl to demonstrate just how he’s become one of the scene’s most revered and enigmatic artists over the years. Long-running pop/punk/alt band Good Charlotte recently returned with a crowd-pleasing new album, Youth Authority, and this fall they’ll embark on a headlining tour in support of it.
