In addition to premiering the title track and the lead single, Bang Bang, the band unveiled a new music video for the latter on Tuesday. Continuing the theme presented in the song’s lyrics, the video — which was directed by Tim Armstrong of Rancid, a longtime colleague/friend of Green Day’s and fellow East Bay Area product — depicts Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool robbing a bank in masks intercut with a small living-room performance sequence:…

We’re quite far removed from Third Eye Blind being a barely active musical unit, as they’ve come back in a big way in the past couple of years. Their resurgence will continue on October 7 when the band releases We Are Drugs, a seven-song EP that serves as the follow-up to 2015’s Dopamine, the album that ended a prolonged drought from Stephan Jenkins & company. Stream the EP’s opening track, the uptempo Company of Strangers, below: https://soundcloud.com/thirdeyeblind/company-of-strangers That song wouldn’t sound out of place on the band’s 2003 album Out of the Vein, so that’s a rather impressive introductory track to the…

The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ new Danger Mouse-produced album, The Getaway, features a number of songs that veer away from the alt/rock legends’ tried-and-true formula. They take some risks, such as on the undeniably disco-influenced song Go Robot – which now has a music video featuring singer Anthony Kiedis painted chalk-white, essentially naked save for a codpiece, wandering around town before finding a soulmate in a colorful disco club. Along the way, his band mates show up in cameo appearances, but this is really Anthony’s show. Watch the madness, as directed by Thoranna Sigurdardottir, unfold below: That’s quite a clip, our…
