Angels & Airwaves’ New Video for the Synth-Heavy ‘Rebel Girl’ is a Dramatic Tale of Unrequited Love

Angels & Airwaves, the band led by guitarist/vocalist Tom Delonge of Blink-182, recently premiered a song titled “Rebel Girl.” The song, which relies heavily on synth bloops and Delonge’s vocals, is an upbeat and memorable one.
On Tuesday, the track’s music video was premiered by the band. For most of Delonge’s time with Blink-182 ( out on the road right now commemorating 20 years of 1999’s Enema of the State), many of the songs he sang touched on the concept of “love.” Or, more specifically, the pining and obsession that boys and/or men can have toward a certain girl (mostly from the viewpoint of a high schooler).
The “Rebel Girl” video brings this concept to live in dramatic fashion. Watch it below:
It’s the first bit of new music from Angels & Airwaves in three years, and is making a solid impact on FM rock radio.
Coming up at the end of August, Delonge and his band will hit the road for an anticipated, sold-out tour — nearly seven years after their most recent live performances. The schedule:
