All is well in the rock and roll world, as AC/DC is officially back.
OK, we knew as much last week, after a series of cryptic teases on the band’s social media pages, building up to a snippet of a new song titled “Shot in the Dark” — but now we know, officially, that the song will premiere this week. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, to be precise, or a bit earlier in certain countries:

Here’s that tantalizing song preview in larger format:
Featuring some tasty guitar riffs from Angus Young and vocals from Brian Johnson, this one sounds very much like you’d hope it would, doesn’t it?
Part of last week’s social media teases was the reveal that Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd are all back in the band.

Johnson, Rudd and Williams each left the band in recent years for various reasons. Rudd couldn’t help the band tour for 2014’s Rock or Bust due to being arrested on charges of drug possession and threatening to kill two men, Johnson left the band due to extensive hearing loss and Williams retired before the tour ended.
For what it’s worth, AC/DC’s most recent album was 2014’s Rock or Bust, the band’s 16th studio album to date.
Online rumors ran rampant recently after a series of photos — featuring featuring vocalist Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd — briefly surfaced on the band’s official website before being taken down. Johnson left AC/DC in 2016 due to extensive hearing loss issues, while Rudd was replaced on one of their recent tours due to various legal issues he faced in 2015.
“This is gonna be a miracle of technology,” Snider told ABC Radio. “What will be achieved, the reuniting of the band that we know for one more album, is gonna to be uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. Because nothing goes on forever. But this is the ultimate ‘one more time.’”
Stay tuned! It’s just about time to rock again.
