Hear Sting’s New Version of ‘Brand New Day’ from Upcoming Album of Re-Imagined Songs

This summer, Sting will release a collection of re-imagined versions of songs from his vast catalog of music. The news comes from the Police front man‘s website, which offered up a new take on 1998’s “Brand New Day” as a preview:

Sting’s decision to rework the song 20 years after the fact was prompted by his desire to encourage a feeling of hope and unity as the new year began. And “Brand New Day” is just the first of several well-known tunes that Sting will be revisiting on his upcoming My Songs tour, which kicks off June 1 in Europe.

As for the My Songs tour mentioned above, the full schedule of dates is up at Sting’s official site, with the following as a promise of what fans might expect:

Sting: My Songs will be a rollicking, dynamic show focusing on the most beloved songs written by Sting and spanning the 16-time Grammy Award winner’s prolific career with The Police and as a solo artist. Fans can expect to hear “Englishman In New York,” “Fields Of Gold,” “Shape Of My Heart,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Message In A Bottle” and many more, with Sting accompanied by an electric, rock ensemble.
